4x4 cube patterns

Figures you make from a solved cube with a few moves. Press one to watch how it's done on the 3D cube, or open it to see the steps.

The 4x4 has no fixed centers: its four center pieces per face move, so you decide each face's color by how you hold it. That's why some 3x3 patterns change: the classic checkerboard needs a middle layer, and instead the 4x4 has Stripes, made by half-turning alternate layers on one axis.

The rest are the 3x3 classics adapted. Some work the same with normal turns (Tetris, Anaconda) and others are scaled up with wide turns (Rw, two layers at once), like the cube in a cube.

Big cube notation: Rw turns the two right layers together and 3Rw the three; r turns only the second layer and 3R only the third.
