5x5 cube patterns

Figures you make from a solved cube with a few moves. Press one to watch how it's done on the 3D cube, or open it to see the steps.

Like the 3x3, the 5x5 has a fixed center on each face, so the Checkerboard is back: half-turn the inner layers (r2 l2 u2 d2 f2 b2) and you get a board with more squares than on the 3x3.

The others are the 3x3 patterns done with wide turns (Rw, two layers at once): the same algorithm, but each "piece" of the picture is a bigger block. That's why the cube in a cube or the crosses look bigger.

Big cube notation: Rw turns the two right layers together and 3Rw the three; r turns only the second layer and 3R only the third.
